Winter is coming up! It’s important to keep your lips moisturised to prevent them to get dry and chapped.
A brand I love to use is Burt’s Bees. They use natural ingredients that help nourish lips and keep them moisturised. Their main ingredient is beeswax, which is known to be a natural skin protectant that soothes and hydrates.

Burt’s Bees Lipbalm Beeswax with vitamin E & peppermint
I started off with this lip balm. It contains vitamin E and peppermint. I love how the peppermint slightly tingles after applying and it keeps my lips cool and soothes the skin, which is perfect during summer if your lips are prone to dry up easily. After using it for a while, I’ve noticed that I have to put on several layers to keep up the moisturising effect. As mentioned earlier the peppermint scent that refreshes your lips in an enticing way. Your lips stay softer for longer.
Burt’s Bees Lipbalm Ultra Conditioning with Kokum Butter
After using the Beeswax Lip Balm for a while, I though I’d try a different one from their range. This Lip Balm contains Kokum Butter which hydrates the lips a lot. I usually apply 2-3 layers on my lips, but with this balm I only need one layer to achieve a long lasting effect. Personally, I think the scent of this lip balm is not so pleasant as the one above. On the downside this hydrated with only one application but dries up much quicker than the product above.
Burt’s Bees Lipstick Crimson Coast
I’ve read about this lipstick a while ago and heard about how it has the same benefits as their lip balms. Their current range consists of 18 different colours in different shades of red, pink and brown. I chose Crimson Coast, because I love dark red tones and this was their darkest colour in their range. On application, I noticed how smooth it glides on my lips and it felt like using a lip balm. The colour spreads evenly, moisturises and intensive coverage. Over time, I noticed that the colour was still vibrant, even after drinking and eating, and that my lips still felt perfectly moisturised. The only downside, in my opinion, is that it smudges a bit and leaves slight stains on glass and on cutlery.
My verdict: Burt’s Bees have a good lip care range with almost 100% natural ingredients. If I’d had to choose between the Beeswax Lip Balm and the Ultra Conditioning Lip Balm, I’d go for the first one because my lips felt a bit drier when using the second one. I’d definitely buy more different lipstick tones, because of their moisturising benefits and even coverage.
What do you guys think? Have you tried Burt’s Bees and if yes, which is your all time favourite?
